The Keep Big Bend Wild (KBBW) team enjoys traveling and is always looking for opportunities to share our important story. It’s energizing for us, and it always results in a new community of supporters.

The Center for Big Bend Studies at Sul Ross State University in Alpine hosted their annual conference November 9-10, 2024, and KBBW was there; we were one of the conference sponsors, raising our visibility and giving us the opportunity to talk about Big Bend and wilderness with just about everyone who attended. Bob Krumenaker also gave a presentation about why preserving Big Bend’s wild landscape from additional development is an excellent way to protect not just the natural resources, but the cultural heritage of the areas as well. 41 people, almost all of whom were from west Texas, and all of whom love Big Bend, signed up as new Keep Big Bend Wild supporters.

The Sibley Nature Center in Midland sponsored a KBBW talk by Bob Krumenaker on January 17, 2025. There was abundant opportunity for Q&A after the presentation, and it resulted in 14 new KBBW supporters, all from Midland/Odessa. Thank you to the Sibley staff and board, as well as Rebecca Dodge of Midland, who made this happen! Thanks, too, to the anonymous donor that covered our hotel costs.
Would you like to host a Keep Big Bend Wild event in your area? Or do you have a suggestion of an event where KBBW should have a table or make a presentation? We’re eager to talk with a cross-section of Texans. Please send us a note at [email protected] ipsum dolor sit amet, at mei dolore tritani repudiandae.
