Keep Big Bend Wild describes itself as a collaborative effort by people who share an appreciation of Big Bend National Park and want to ensure that its wild character will continue to thrive.
Recently, Bob Krumenaker, the the national park’s former superintendent, discussed the grassroots effort by Keep Big Bend Wild before his presentation on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Sibley Nature Center.
“The idea of wilderness at Big Bend started in the 1930s,” he told the Reporter-Telegram. “It got a lot of momentum in the ’70s as well.”
