Massive Border Infrastructure Does Not Belong in Big Bend National Park
Pro-Park, Pro-Security, Non-Partisan, Now and Forever.

The controversy over whether or not to build a border wall or other physical infrastructure in Big Bend National Park and surrounding areas is a huge issue with major implications.

In March 2025, Former Big Bend National Park Superintendent Bob Krumenaker and Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland both testified before a hearing of the House Natural Resources Committee regarding Border Security.

Six former Big Bend National Park Superintendents, and one Former Deputy Superintendent, wrote this open letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mullin on May 21, 2026.
